La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lubbock West Medical Centr

Staff was very friendly and they gave us a great rate on the room because we had family in the hospital. The hotel was looking a little worn but my main concern was that it just was not clean. There is no effort being made to do any detail cleaning. Heavy dust and dirt on all the pictures and ledges in the room, the carpet not vacuumed in the corners, edges, etc., the room did not look, fell and smell clean. The elevator was very dirty asking work other common areas I was surprised, because the Hotel looks very nice from the outside and it does not seem that old.

So for 189.00 a night plus taxes and fees (over 200.00) they need to step up their game. The lobby and sitting area of the hotel are clean and well maintained. But the rooms not so much. The hotel needs to really look into deep cleaning the rooms. The bathroom floor looked like it’s not been mopped in forever. There was mold all over the restroom. It was on the ceiling, tub, sink and tub. The dust in the room was horrendous. They obviously don’t move the nightstand and dust or vacuum. I hate to see what the ac filters look like. It’s updated and generally nice but just needs a real deep cleaning. Breakfast was good!

Room was dirty, there was holes in the bathroom, the showerhead looked like it had never been cleaned. There was no extra roll of toilet paper for a two night stay. The phone did not work and when we tried to check it, the space behind the nightstand was filthy and clearly had never been swept or vacuumed. The outlet off the microwave did not work, ( not enough outlets in the room). We lost power while the hotel was hotel was full of cheerleaders (us included) trying to get ready for competition. Too much electricity for the hotel? The heating and air conditioning made a lot of noise. The room we were in faced the highway and you could hear all the traffic like you were sleeping on the side of the road. They had no extra towels available - not just not in the room, but not in the hotel. The hotel itself was not well maintained. The staff was exceptional, however. They were very kind and tried to help the best they could and work with the best they had.

We spent the night at this location last night as my daughter in law is at the hospital having a baby. The room was not clean! There were stains on the beds and someone’s shower shoe was sitting in the corner! Obvious the rooms were not wiped down, vacuumed or the quilts washed ( we didn’t check the bedding until 5:30 am this morning as we were leaving after I tripped over the shower shoe that was left near the desk! To make it worse, when we checked out we showed the manager the pictures and he just said “I’ll let housekeeping know”, very blaise about the whole thing. Very disappointed to say the least and won’t ever stay at this one again. La Quinta is the hotel I always stay at when traveling and I’ll tell my kids to stay also. Just yuck!
